Project: Al-Jazari Museum – Exhibition Design & Production
Alice Scenic Studios has carried out the turnkey design and production of an interactive and educational museum project that showcases the legacy and technological genius of Al-Jazari, one of the most important engineers of the Islamic Golden Age.
- Productions Within Scope:
- Working or animated, three-dimensional, large-scale replicas of the machines featured in Al-Jazari’s “The Book of Knowledge of Ingenious Mechanical Devices.”
- Hyper-realistic mannequins dressed in period costumes.
- Digital animations and interactive screens explaining the working principles of the machines.
- The production of thematic platforms and décors that complete the story and atmosphere of the exhibition.
- Materials and Techniques Used:
- In the machine replicas, materials suitable for the spirit of the period such as metals like brass and copper, wood, and custom cast parts were used.
- The complex mechanical systems and 3D designs of the machines were engineered using software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Fusion 360.
- The mannequins and figures were modeled in digital sculpting software like ZBrush and then produced with silicone or fiberglass (FRP) molding techniques.
- CNC machining and laser cutting technologies were utilized for the precise manufacturing of mechanical parts.
