Project: Emaar Square Mall, Istanbul – Outdoor Lighting Installation

Alice Scenic Studios has carried out the turnkey design and production of a large-scale and magical “light ceiling” installation, covering the main walkway in the open areas of Emaar Square Mall.

• Productions Within Scope:
  • An intensive string LED light curtain consisting of tens of thousands of light points, covering the walkway like a roof.
  • Decorative crystal/acrylic objects and spheres suspended downwards, interspersed within the light curtain, adding depth and sparkle to the design.
• Materials and Techniques Used:
  • The main support system of the light ceiling consisted of a metal construction durable for outdoor conditions, either integrated into the existing pergola structure or custom-built.
  • Professional string LED lighting products, which are energy-efficient and fully durable for outdoor conditions (IP67 rated), were used in the installation.
  • 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD and 3ds Max were utilized during the design and project planning phases for the engineering calculations and visualization of this large-scale and suspended system.

  • The open areas of a luxury shopping mall were transformed into a magical and prestigious experience area for guests during the New Year/seasonal period.
  • An immersive atmosphere that completely envelops visitors was created by designing a “light ceiling” over a wide walkway axis.
