Project: Mall of Istanbul – Christmas Décor & Lighting

Alice Scenic Studios has carried out the turnkey design and production of a large-scale and illuminated Christmas installation that greets visitors for the main atrium area of Mall of Istanbul.

  • Productions Within Scope:
    • A large, curved “Mall of Istanbul” sign written with neon-effect LEDs, featuring gift boxes and stretching from one end of the main atrium to the other.
    • Large-scale Christmas trees and decorative gift boxes that complete the concept.
  • Materials and Techniques Used:
    • The main supporting structure of the large arch, consisting of the illuminated text and gift boxes, was produced from lightweight and robust aluminum profiles with static calculations made.
    • Fiberglass (FRP) molding and CNC cutting techniques were used in the manufacturing of the text and decors.
    • 3D modeling and engineering software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks were utilized during the design, engineering, and project planning phases for the safe installation of the large and suspended installation.
  • Project Objectives and Benefits Provided:
    • The main atrium area of a large shopping mall was transformed into a celebration and attraction center for visitors during the Christmas season.
    • A strong first impression was created by greeting visitors with a large-scale, illuminated, and fun installation carrying the venue’s brand name.
    • An iconic point was created where visitors would take photos under and around, increasing the mall’s visibility and engagement on social media.
    • Large-scale and suspended décors, specially designed for high and wide atrium voids and requiring precision in terms of engineering and safety, were produced and installed.
