Project: Metropol AVM, Istanbul – Christmas Décor & Lighting

Alice Scenic Studios has carried out the turnkey project of a large-scale and monumental New Year/seasonal décor and lighting installation for Metropol AVM Istanbul, highlighting the venue’s iconic architectural structures and open spaces.

  • Productions Within Scope:
    • A giant, funnel-shaped light installation at the main entrance of the mall, completely covering the existing architectural structure.
    • Light tunnels covering the road in front of the mall, under which vehicles and pedestrians pass.
    • An illuminated reindeer sculpture made of artificial pine, and large-scale Christmas ball décors.
    • Colorful and programmable LED lighting applications that wrap around tree trunks and branches, in harmony with the venue’s landscape.
  • Materials and Techniques Used:
    • The main construction of the giant funnel-shaped installation was produced from steel profiles with static calculations made, in accordance with the architectural structure.
    • Thematic figures like the reindeer sculpture were produced with the fiberglass (FRP) molding technique.
    • Throughout the project, professional string and strip LED lighting products that are energy-efficient, fully durable for outdoor conditions (IP67 rated), and long-lasting were used.
    • 3D modeling, engineering, and lighting design software such as AutoCAD, 3ds Max, and Dialux were utilized in the design and project planning of these large-scale and complex installations.
