Project: Vadistanbul – Outdoor Lighting Installations

Alice Scenic Studios has carried out the turnkey design and production of monumental and large-scale outdoor lighting installations that highlight the architecture and open spaces of Vadistanbul, one of Istanbul’s leading lifestyle and shopping centers.

• Productions Within Scope:
  • A large-scale “light ceiling” composed of thousands of light strings, completely covering the main entrance square of the mall.
  • A giant, cylindrical, multi-layered light sculpture in the form of a chandelier, positioned over the fountain in front of the mall.
• Materials and Techniques Used:
  • The main supporting structures of the “light ceiling” and the giant chandelier were produced from aluminum and steel profiles that are durable for outdoor conditions and have had their static calculations done.
  • Professional string LED lighting products, which are energy-efficient, long-lasting, and suitable for outdoor use (IP67 rated), were used in all installations.
  • 3D modeling and engineering software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and 3ds Max were utilized during the design, engineering, and project planning phases for the safe installation and visualization of these large-scale structures.

  • The architecture of Vadistanbul was highlighted with iconic and monumental light installations, both indoors and outdoors, throughout the year or for special seasons.
  • The nighttime atmosphere of the venue was completely transformed, creating an unforgettable, magical, and artistic experience for visitors.
  • Key points of the mall were turned into iconic “photo points” with very high social media sharing value.
  • Permanent or semi-permanent lighting projects based on energy-efficient LED technology, which are complex in terms of engineering and safety and cover large areas, were realized.
